  • On the way back from a work site, the need for caffeine kicked in. Luckily, I stopped by this small Ancaster cafe and it was such a cute spot. I do wish the trail up to the cafe from the parking lot had some sort of paving. The interior is super cute, down to the local art scene decorating the walls. The server was super sweet and brought my food and drinks over to where I was sitting. I got a breakfast bagel, a raspberry Scone and chocolate croissant with a white Americano (but according to the menu, a Canadiano!) The bagel was very fresh, the veggies stating their own against the fresh bacon and crisp bagel. Having some sort of savory component would do wonders here (like a mustard). The raspberry scone could be a bit more crumbly but still an excellent frosting on top, almost like a coulis. The croissant was solid, with a crunch and a soft middle. This is such a good spot to go for a brew, support local creators and the community as a whole!

  • I can't sing Trails Cafe, their staff and the owners' praises high enough!!! I belong to Out and Out (a Toronto based LGBTQ outdoor activity group) and I planned a hike in Ancaster for 17 of our members. I contacted Trails Cafe a few weeks ago to see if they could accommodate our group for lunch after our hike. Not only did they agree to host our group, they also facilitated our ordering our meals prior to showing up and reserved a space in the downstairs so we could all eat together. After one false start due to weather conditions, we had a beautiful hike from Tiffany Falls to Sherman Falls to Canterbury Falls and then showed up at Trails Cafe famished!!! I called ahead of our arrival and when we showed up staff was already busy preparing our meals. As a testament to the owners commitment to ensuring their staff are supported and guests enjoy their visit both Milap & Arnie showed up to help manage our groups visit. Our lunches were all delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming and Milap & Arnie were both very attentive to our wants. I can't wait to plan my next group hike the area so we can visit Trails Cafe again!

  • Cozy cafe in the heart of Ancaster. Located a little off the radial trail, so a great pit stop on a bike ride or hike. Nice selection of food and beverages. Friendly staff and owner Arnie. They have a basement with more seating and it is suitable for holding small group meetings.

  • We are back for our second lunch at Trails and will definitely be coming back again soon! This is such a cute cafe with beautiful artwork, and we've enjoyed both the lively atmosphere upstairs and the cozy work-friendly environment downstairs. The owners are so nice and the sandwiches are delicious. Would recommend for all!

  • Trails Café is a gem in Ancaster. Tucked along Wilson Street right by the Ancaster Library, it’s a beautiful, clean, and genuinely homey space—exactly the kind of local coffee shop you want to linger in. The coffee is excellent, and there’s a great selection of sweet treats to choose from. What really sets it apart, though, are the two baristas who make you feel instantly welcome, like a regular even on your first visit. It’s calm, warm, and relaxed—refreshingly free of the busy, chaotic Starbucks vibe. A perfect spot to slow down and enjoy a great cup of coffee.

  • I went with a gluten-free friend for a light lunch- coffee break. We were so interested in the decor and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the drinks. I had Earl Grey tea and she had coffee. Both beverages were nice and hot! I hate when coffee is served in mugs and the coffee is lukewarm but this place served it piping hot! Yay! They get it and are serious about your coffee experience. The food is also delicious with attention paid to your dining experience. Much appreciated! You will enjoy your visit here. As a bonus there is parking available!

  • I came here with my husband and two young kids and we all had a fantastic experience!! The owners and staff were incredibly helpful and so friendly. The gingerbread cookie was divine and the sawmill sandwich was delicious. I will definitely be coming back!
